What we are — and what we aren't

Mr Hudson is a luxury travel agency for the gay community. Small team. Sharp standards. Very happy guests.

We are not a platform. Large platforms like Fora are infrastructure that powers your travel business — you bring the clients, the brand and the volume. They give you tools and splits.

We are the opposite shape. Mr Hudson is small and close-knit — a team that knows each other's work, sits in the same group chat, and looks after one another's guests when one of us is on a plane. When you join us, you join the team itself. We bring the brand, the niche, and the team you'll work alongside. You bring the network, the craft, and the finesse.

It's a different shape of work — and one you'll feel a pull toward, or you won't.

Who this is for

People new to the work, ready to be brilliant at it.

The Next Chapter

You're recently or semi-retired from a successful career. You've traveled well and often. You've got a network — friends, former colleagues, the clients you've spent decades looking after — who travel beautifully too. You don't want a job — you want a graceful, intellectually engaging next chapter.

The Part-Timer

You're running a flexible primary occupation — consulting, lifestyle business, creative work — that lets you build something else alongside it. You want a second income built around something you love, in a community you understand.

The Career-Changer

You're mid-career and ready to walk away from the corporate or service-industry role you've outgrown. You've got the network, the eye, and the appetite for something more lifestyle-led.

What you all need: real passion for the craft of planning a trip, a meticulous eye for detail, warmth with people and the instinct to listen before suggesting, a real network of HNW peers who travel beautifully, a natural affinity with the LGBTQ+ community, and a US base.

Who this isn't for

We'd rather you know now than three months in.

Established advisors

If you're already producing at another agency or platform, you almost certainly have better economics and broader infrastructure there than we offer. Fora in particular is built specifically for scale and tiered growth — they do that well. Stay where you are.

Transaction-volume operators

Our model is depth — beautifully designed, considered trips. The advisors who thrive here run a meaningful book on the back of well-chosen, well-built trips, not high-volume churn.

White-label entrepreneurs

Mr Hudson advisors work under the Mr Hudson brand. We don't white-label, and we don't expect to. If you want to build your own travel identity, a platform model will serve you better.

Anyone needing a salary or scale infrastructure

We're small, nimble, not built for scale. If you need a stream of leads handed to you or guaranteed income from day one, this isn't the right seat. We will coach you on customer acquisition — our founder is a digital marketer by background — but the building is yours.

Anyone not at home in our community

Mr Hudson serves the gay community. If that's not a world you understand or want to serve, we're not the right fit. You don't need to be gay yourself — many of our best future advisors will be straight allies with deep fluency — but you do need to get it.

Anyone wanting a guaranteed easy thing

Year one is a real build. Most successful advisors give this 20–30 focused hours a week. It's flexible. It's not low-effort.

What you'll actually do

Design extraordinary trips. Look after the people who take them.

You'll design and book extraordinary trips for our guests — the kind of trips you'd want to take yourself.

In practice, that means: long initial conversations to understand what a guest is really after. Building proposals that read like love letters to a place. Booking the right hotel, the right room, the right table. Sorting the small things that make the difference — the early check-in, the dietary on file, the note on arrival. Being available when something needs solving on the ground.

You'll also build your own book of business. The advisors who succeed at Mr Hudson activate their existing network in the first 90 days — friends, former colleagues, the people who already travel beautifully — and grow steadily from there. We're there to help: positioning, scripts, brand support, and serious coaching on customer acquisition from our founder, who came to this from digital marketing. The building itself is yours.

What we provide

Three things to do beautiful work, from day one.

01

Training and founder coaching

A training stack you won't find anywhere else. Foundational programs through Coastline Travel Group, the industry-leading modules of Virtuoso, and ongoing one-on-one coaching with our founder on the craft, the brand, and the specific tastes of our guests. We invest in you because your standard becomes ours.

02

Tools that are fit for purpose

We don't have the purpose-built tech of a scale platform. What we have are tools fit for purpose — HubSpot, Google Workspace — and AI-rebuilt workflows that save you time on the heavy lifting: creative briefs for our in-house trip designer, requests to destination partners, the writing that would otherwise eat your evenings.

03

Preferred partnerships and rates

Access to Virtuoso and a global network of hotel and destination partner relationships through Coastline Travel Group — preferred rates, priority upgrades, amenities your guests can't get on their own. Plus invitations to industry events and fam trips: familiarization stays where suppliers host us at their properties, so we know them inside out.

Brent Hendrix, Mr Hudson Travel Advisor

Meet Brent

From guest to colleague — and the best decision he's made in years.

Brent Hendrix spent his career in engineering. A chapter of life lived in Europe. Thirty-five countries across six continents. The kind of discernment you only get from doing the work yourself.

He'd been a Mr Hudson client since 2024 — Christmas dinner at Aman in Luang Prabang, the Ring of Kerry by helicopter for his husband Jeff's birthday. He knew our standard from the receiving end.

Then he retired. Properly. And found, as everyone does, that retirement is wonderful for about six months — until a curious mind starts looking for the next thing.

One May afternoon, he wrote: "I'd like to channel my travel experience and desire into something that keeps me out of trouble in retirement. Is there a way for us to do that?"

There was.

No industry experience — we trained him. He's well into Coastline Travel Group's foundational program, Virtuoso modules, and a dozen coaching sessions with our founder. His first clients are mostly people he already knew — friends, family, the people whose travel he'd been quietly advising for years. His first booking — and his first commission — was a luxury cruise.

"Looking forward to how this evolves over time and the fun I'll have advising. Thank you for setting all of this up and making a dream of mine come true." — Brent Hendrix, Mr Hudson Travel Advisor

We're looking for a few more Brents.

The economics, honestly

We don't bury this on a "request more info" page.

Structure
Independent contractor (1099). No salary. Earnings uncapped and entirely commission-based. Most successful Mr Hudson advisors run a meaningful business on 20–30 focused hours a week.
Earnings
You keep 72% of the commission on every booking you generate, plus the same share of any client-facing service fees. Earnings are uncapped — what you make is a function of how thoughtfully you build a book in a community that values what you offer.
Pace
No sales targets, no production minimums. Some agencies use them to drive volume; we think they add unnecessary pressure to work that's relationship-driven by nature. You grow at the pace that suits your life.
Timing
Most advisors confirm their first booking within 30–45 days of onboarding. First commission typically lands 60–90 days after that — after the guest has traveled and the supplier has paid out. Year one is a build.
Termination
Either side can end the arrangement with 30 days' notice. Your own advisor clients remain yours.

Frequently asked

The questions we get most often.

Do I need prior travel-industry experience?

No — and we'd say that's the point. The qualities that make a great Mr Hudson advisor are discernment, attention to detail, and a real network of people who travel beautifully. Those can't be taught in a year.

The craft of trip planning, supplier relationships and the technical side of the business very much can be, and we take care to teach them. You'll move through Coastline Travel Group's foundational program, work through Virtuoso's industry-leading modules, and have ongoing one-on-one coaching with our founder on the brand, the work, and the specific tastes of our guests. It's a training stack we don't think you'll find anywhere else.

Why isn't this for established advisors?

Because we're not built for scale. Mr Hudson is small, niche, and brand-led — a curated boutique, not a platform.

Scale platforms like Fora offer the broader infrastructure, supplier breadth and tiered economics that reward established producers with growing books. They do that well, and we don't try to compete with them on those terms. Mr Hudson is built for people new to this work who want to grow inside a specific brand serving a specific community — and we suit that profile beautifully.

Do I need to be gay?

No. You do need a genuine affinity with our community. Mr Hudson serves discerning gay travelers — often traveling with partners or close friends, often discerning to the point of exacting, and always wanting to feel known and welcomed by someone fluent in their lives.

Some of our best future advisors will be straight allies with deep, lived familiarity in this world — the long friendships, the in-laws, the professional history. What you can't do is treat this as a generic luxury-travel niche. Our guests will notice.

Where do my first clients come from?

From you — and we say that with confidence, because it's how every successful Mr Hudson advisor begins. Your first clients are the well-traveled friends you've been quietly giving recommendations to for years. The former colleagues who go to Italy every spring. The neighbors who've been talking about a safari since the pandemic. The couples in your supper club. Your alumni network. The board you sit on. The people who already trust your taste and would love to know there's a better way to book.

Your first ten clients, in practice, are people you've had dinner with — or could. We help you turn that warm network into a book of business: positioning, scripts, a beautifully designed announcement to send when you're ready, all the brand support you need to make the right first impression. Most advisors confirm their first booking within 30–45 days of starting.

How much time does this take?

A serious build in year one is 20–30 hours a week — not occasional, not full-time, but real. After that, advisors who've found their rhythm tend to run beautiful books on 25–30 hours a week, with the natural seasonal peaks of the travel calendar.

It's flexible. It's not low-effort. The advisors who treat this as a genuine piece of work in year one are the ones who, in year three, are traveling on fam trips and earning serious income on terms they design themselves.

What if it doesn't work?

Either side can step away with 30 days' notice. We agree on 6-month and 12-month milestones at the start, so there's no ambiguity, and if those aren't tracking we have an honest conversation.

Your own advisor clients — the relationships you bring and build — stay yours. A 24-month non-solicit applies on existing Mr Hudson clients post-termination, but everything you brought in is genuinely yours to continue serving.
